We protect children from abuse

Here’s *Cassy’s story:

Cassy*, a grade 7 student at one of our schools, reported to one of our professional counselors that her grandfather had been sexually abusing her in their home. Our counselor filled out the necessary forms and involved a Social Worker from the Department of Social Development.

Cassy’s parents have since disowned her as they believe she has created irreversible divides within their family. She’s been placed in a loving foster-family and is receiving regular counselling to help her navigate this extremely difficult time dealing with the trauma of her abuse and the loss of her family.

The process of dealing with abuse is complex, painful and long term. Cassy is strong and brave and we’re committed to walking with and supporting her through this process.
