Teenage Awareness Programme
Teenage Awareness Programme
Our Teenage Awareness Programme (TAP) is a series of short-term workshops addressing a variety of issues facing our pre-teen and teenage learners. Because we incorporate the Life Orientation Syllabus into our workshops, this programme both equips learners with tools and skills for life and prepares them for Life Orientation Testing. Our TAP addresses topics such as identity, friendship, family relationships, sex education, pornography awareness and prevention, gangsterism, trauma debriefing, social networking, social responsibility, substance use and abuse, self-defense, leadership training, sexual identity, study skills, strengths assessments and any other topic that the school asks for.
Because we use a variety of multimedia, song, dance, guest speakers, group work, journaling and exercise, our workshops are a fun and interactive means of addressing real issues that are otherwise often unapproachable by teachers, peers and even parents.
We work with each school to tailor the dates, duration and topics of the TAP to suit their needs. By running profitable TAPs, we are able to subsidize programmes in our beneficiary schools. We have booked programmes at schools like Sweet Valley Primary, Westcott Primary, Western Province Preparatory, Lavender Hill High, Zwaanswyk Academy, Blouberg Ridge Primary and Generation Schools. We continue to receive fantastic feedback from all of these schools and the popularity of the programme continues to grow.
