It has been proven that the earliest interventions yield the best return on human capital investment. Building a foundation of number concepts improves learners’ mathematical outcomes in future years.
The LifeMatters Foundation has developed a curriculum-based Numeracy Intervention Programme called ‘Fun with Numbers’, which helps Grade 2 learners build a solid mathematical foundation. Learners receive two one-hour sessions per week from trained volunteers. The programme allows learners to have fun while practicing foundational mathematical concepts using the fun games and activities in the ‘Fun with Numbers’ Manual.
I started with LifeMatters in 2015 because I was struggling to read and write. I now love to read and will be going to Grade 4 next year. Thank you, LifeMatters, for everything that you’ve done for us.
